Meet the Owner

Devin Chapman

Devin Chapman is the owner and principal appraiser of Mountain Appraisal Service.

Originally from Ohio, Devin attended Rollins College in Orlando, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Policy with a minor in Sustainable Development. He played college baseball at Columbus State Community College before transferring to Rollins.

After graduation, Devin worked with the Eckerd Youth Alternative program in the mountains of Western North Carolina, supporting at-risk youth. That experience deepened his connection to the region and ultimately brought him back to the mountains.

Returning to Ohio, Devin began his appraisal career as a Real Estate Appraiser Apprentice. After becoming a licensed appraiser, he moved back to North Carolina—this time to stay.

Today, Devin lives in Asheville with his wife and two young daughters. When he's not appraising properties across Western North Carolina, you might find him playing in Asheville's adult soccer league, exploring the area's trails, or enjoying the city's vibrant music scene.

Local Connection

Why Western North Carolina?

The mountains of Western North Carolina aren't just our service area—they're home. From Asheville's creative neighborhoods and renowned music venues to the quiet communities tucked into the surrounding counties, this region has a character unlike anywhere else.

That local connection matters in real estate appraisal. Understanding what makes a property valuable here—whether it's mountain views, proximity to downtown Asheville's arts district, access to outdoor recreation, or the peace of a rural setting—requires living and working in these communities.
